About Technical Training Institute Thimphu
The Technical Training Institute formally known as the Thimphu Institute of Automobile engineering was established in 2008 under the Department of Human Resources, Ministry of Labour and Human resource to provide Automobile related training to the school leavers and the unemployed youth in the country. The graduates are employed in various organizations and employment rate is 100% so far.
Since the numbers of vehicles are increasing year after year the demands for trained Automobile technicians have also significantly increased and a large number of vacancies have emerged in the automobile service sector in the recent past.
The institute does not provide accommodation but the trainees are paid Nu.1800/- per month as stipend during the training period for those trainees who are recruited through the selection interview by the Department of Human Resource. However, the trainees have to pay a onetime nominal fee of Nu.200/- each for institute development fund (IDF) at the time of joining the institute.
The trainees are assessed and certified by Department of Occupational Standard, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources by awarding National Certificate level 1& 2. The opening ladder for higher qualification to NC3 is also provided after NC2 level qualification so that the graduates could pursue further education in future. The certificate level will also commensurate their wages and professional development in their work places.
