COURSE TITLE: AUTOMOBILE
LEVEL: NATIONAL CERTIFICATE LEVEL II
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
AUTOMOBILE repair and service automobiles and other powered vehicles. The trainees learn from simple engine tune-ups to complete power systems. They are taught to do servicing and repairing electrical systems; aligning and servicing suspension, braking and steering systems; repairing and adjusting transmissions and differentials; heating and engine-cooling systems; and doing all necessary mechanical checks and diagnoses and repairs.
Automobile Mechanics learn how to use a wide range of tools and equipment, from wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers to electronic engine-testing equipment and other power tools. They learn knowledge and skills of engineering drawing to simple calculation and science to estimates of the costs of repair work. The auto mechanics are employed in various organizations such as repair shops, garages, Motor vehicle inspectors and also as self employed.

OJT DURATION: 276 hours.
NOMINAL DURATION: 1028 hours.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT: High school Graduate.
Physically fit & mentally healthy.
